European Common Lisp Meeting, Amsterdam, October 23, 2011

Arthur Lemmens and Edi Weitz are proud to announce the European Common Lisp Meeting 2011. The meeting will consist of a Sunday full of talks on October 23, 2011, with optional dinners on Saturday and Sunday evening and an optional guided walking tour of Amsterdam on Saturday afternoon.

We would like to thank for sponsoring the ECLM 2011.

The following talks (speakers listed in alphabetical order) will be given on Sunday:

The meeting itself as well as the (optional) Sunday dinner will be in Amsterdam on October 23 at the Hotel Arena in 's Gravesandestraat 51. As usual, we'll also have a dinner on Saturday (October 22) at 19:00 - this time at the Brasserie Harkema, Nes 67. Finally, we'll offer a guided tour of Amsterdam on Saturday afternoon. The guided tour will start at 13:40 in front of the National Monument statue at Dam Square and will last approximately two hours.

We'll start at 09:30 on Sunday. Doors will be open at 09:00, and coffee will be available. Please arrive in time so the speakers won't have to endure lots of latecomers during their talks.

If you're interested in participating, we recommend that you subscribe to the ECLM mailing list.

Prices

The price for the actual meeting is 75 Euros. This includes your share of the rent we have to pay for the room, technical equipment, service, and so on. It also includes beverages and biscuits during the coffee breaks and a small lunch.

If you want to stay for dinner after the meeting, that'll be another 75 Euros. The dinner will be from 19:00 to 21:00 in the same room. Vegetarian food will be available. Beverages are included in the price.

The price for the Saturday dinner is - you've guessed it by now - 75 Euros, beverages again included.

The price for the guided tour is 25 Euros. Note that only 25 persons can take part in the guided tour.

Lightning Talks

Like in 2009, we'll again have lightning talks. A lightning talk is like a normal talk except that it has to be very short - depending on the number of speakers it'll be limited to either five or ten minutes. If you're interested in giving a lightning talk, let us know.

  • Go to the registration website and enter your data, then press the "Register" button. Make sure to use a valid email address - see next step.
  • Once you've done that, we will immediately send you an email with a password. If you don't receive it, check if it didn't get caught by some spam filter. If you're really sure you didn't receive an email, contact us.
  • Use the password from the previous step to log in at the registration website. This will finish your registration process.
  • You can now, optionally, change your data. The list on the website will show you how much you have to pay depending on what you've selected.
  • Use a bank transfer or PayPal to send the money. If you want to pay via bank transfer, use this information:

  • In either case, bank or PayPal, make sure that we can identify you as the sender of the money. Provide your full name and the email address you registered with.
  • Once the money has arrived, we will mark your entry as confirmed in the list of registered users. Please expect this to take three or four workdays (or maybe even longer, depending on where you sent the money from). No need to get nervous earlier than that... :)
  • While you wait for your confirmation, subscribe to the ECLM mailing list.
  • Due to our experiences from previous ECLMs, we don't offer the option to pay cash at the meeting anymore. In other words, you can only come to the meeting if your registration has been confirmed (see above) by us. It's not enough to just be registered!
